THE EVANGELIST – PART 22 Raising the Next Generation

smooth jazz gospel, jazz anthem, inspirational soul

VERSE 1

What God ignites must carry on,
Through every age, through every son
The fire falls — but not to stay,
It moves from hand to hand its way

One generation lifts His Name,
Another rises with the flame
What Heaven starts will never end,
It multiplies again, again

⸻

CHORUS

We’re raising up the next in line,
Carriers of the flame divine
From heart to heart, from hand to hand,
We walk in God’s eternal plan

It will not stop, it will increase,
From generation unto peace
The fire lives, it will remain,
We pass it on — in Jesus’ Name

⸻

VERSE 2

Not every voice is called to lead,
Not every heart is fit to seed
But those who hunger, those who stay,
Will carry what we give away

Through time and truth, through walk and word,
The call is formed, the voice is heard
Not built on gifts that rise and fall,
But grounded deep to stand through all

⸻

CHORUS

We’re raising up the next in line,
Carriers of the flame divine
From heart to heart, from hand to hand,
We walk in God’s eternal plan

It will not stop, it will increase,
From generation unto peace
The fire lives, it will remain,
We pass it on — in Jesus’ Name

⸻

VERSE 3

They’re not called just to look the same,
But carry forward holy flame
To build, expand, and take it far,
Beyond the place where we now are

With Word and fire, both strong and true,
They’ll do what we could never do
For what we plant and what we sow,
Will rise in them and overflow

⸻

BRIDGE (KEY CHANGE – G MAJOR)

From generation to generation,
Your works declared across the nations

We release — and it multiplies
We let go — and the fire rises
Not held back, not contained,
But carried forth in Jesus’ Name

Fathers sow and sons arise,
Daughters carry kingdom light
What we give will never die,
It lives beyond our time

⸻

FINAL CHORUS (BIG – FULL HARMONY)

We’re raising up the next in line,
Carriers of the flame divine
From heart to heart, from hand to hand,
We walk in God’s eternal plan

It will not stop, it will increase,
From generation unto peace
The fire lives, it will remain,
We pass it on — in Jesus’ Name

(Repeat stronger)
We pass it on — it multiplies
We pass it on — it never dies
