🎶 Song 88 – Fetishes and Faith
Paper 88 – Fetishes, Charms, and Magic 🎶 Song: Fetishes and Faith (Verse 1 – Fetishes and Sacred Stones) Stones of wonder, carried near, Tokens guarding hearts in fear. Every pebble held a soul, Fetishes gave the tribe control. (Reflection Stanza) Though bound in dread, they taught the way, To seek for order day by day. Superstition shaped the mind, Preparing truth for humankind. (Verse 2 – Totemism and Tribal Gods) Animals chosen, banners high, Totem beasts beneath the sky. Clans united by sacred name, Totem gods upheld their claim. (Reflection Stanza) Totem gave the tribe its frame, A seed of worship’s holy flame. Symbols bound the hearts as one, A step toward faith in God begun. (Verse 3 – Evil Eye and Veils) Eyes of envy cast their spell, Whispers warned of spirits fell. Beauty veiled from ghostly sight, Customs born of fear and night. (Reflection Stanza) Fear of envy shaped the way, Traditions echo still today. From shadowed dread the soul would rise, Toward brighter truth beyond disguise. (Verse 4 – Numerology before Mathematics) Numbers whispered fate’s command, Lucky charms in every hand. Counting days with sacred lore, Math would rise from myth before. (Reflection Stanza) Though numbers served as charms of fate, They opened doors to calculate. From mystic signs the mind was freed, To measure truth and thought indeed. (Verse 5 – Astrology before Astronomy) Stars were maps of human fate, Planets ruled the earthly state. Astrology gave eyes to scan, The heavens’ order guiding man. (Reflection Stanza) Though false the stars’ decree was cast, They trained the eyes to watch at last. From myths of sky the truth would grow, Astronomy began to show. (Verse 6 – Magic as Technique) Rituals crafted, spells rehearsed, Science mimicked, fears dispersed. Magic sought to bind the laws, But only hinted at the cause. (Reflection Stanza) Magic failed to rule the skies, Yet taught the mind to analyze. From mimic art the path was clear, Toward science true and knowledge near. (Verse 7 – Lunatics and Geniuses) Madmen feared, the wise revered, Spirit voices often heard. Difference marked by ghostly hand, Mystery shaped the tribal land. (Reflection Stanza) Madness seen as spirit’s call, Genius raised above them all. Though bound in myth, the seeds were sown, For minds to shine, their gifts be known. (Verse 8 – Psychological Function) Charms and tokens calmed the soul, Fear of spirits took its toll. Objects gave the heart release, Superstition offered peace. (Reflection Stanza) Comfort came through charms and fears, Yet faith would grow in future years. From fragile hope the soul took flight, Toward lasting trust in God’s true light. (Bridge – Transition to True Religion) From stones and beasts to higher thought, From charms and spells to truth long sought. The soul ascends, the spirit sings, Beyond the fetish, Light it brings. (Reflection Stanza) Each superstition, though untrue, Prepared the way for what is new. From fear and myth the path was made, Toward Father’s love that will not fade. (Final Chorus – Fatherhood and Brotherhood) No longer bound by ghostly dread, We worship God, the Living Head. From fetishes to holy flame, True adoration now proclaims. Fatherhood of God we see, Brotherhood of humanity. (Reflection Stanza) The journey ends in love’s embrace, Mankind united in God’s grace. From ancient fear to faith above, The world transformed by truth and love.
