The Way Home I’ve been breathing like a man beneath the water, Carrying the weight of every fear I know. Days run circles through the dust and the disappointment, Searching for life on a worn and winding road. So much pressure, so much noise inside the silence, So much striving just to make it through the day. I was not looking for religion in the ruins — I was gasping for the air of life again. And somewhere on this road beside my weakness, A Stranger walks as if He’s always known my name. I did not see Him in the sorrow and confusion, But now my heart is waking in ways I can’t explain. Yoke, Cross, Branch, Throne — Walking with Jesus, finding my way home. Rest, surrender, abide and reign, Learning the rhythm of the Kingdom again. Yoke, Cross, Branch, Throne — Breathing the oxygen my soul was made to know. Step by step, grace upon grace, Walking with Jesus all the way home. Jesus, You are teaching me the truth I never noticed, Showing me a Kingdom hidden in plain sight. Stay with me longer at the table of Your presence, Open up my eyes and let me see Your light. Now the fire is burning deep within my spirit, Something holy rising where despair had been. What if all along the road I thought was ending Was at last the place the real journey could begin? And in the breaking of the bread I finally saw You, The risen Shepherd standing in the ordinary day. The One I thought was distant in the grieving Was walking every dusty step along the way. Yoke, Cross, Branch, Throne — Walking with Jesus, finding my way home. Rest, surrender, remain and reign, Learning the rhythm of the Kingdom again. Yoke, Cross, Branch, Throne — Breathing the oxygen my soul was made to know. Step by step, grace upon grace, Walking with Jesus all the way home. Jesus, give us Emmaus eyes To see You here and now. The Kingdom was never lost to us — We lost the way to see somehow. Yoke — where weary souls come home to rest. Cross — where we come back home and start again. Branch — where we remain at home with You. Throne — where we go home to where we belong. Jesus, give us Emmaus eyes. When our hearts begin burning, we will follow You. Yoke, Cross, Branch, Throne — Walking with Jesus, finding our way home. Rest, surrender, abide and reign, The Breath of Heaven filling our lungs. Yoke, Cross, Branch, Throne — Breathing the oxygen our souls were made to know. Face to face and grace upon grace, We are walking with Jesus all the way home. Yoke to rest. Cross to surrender. Branch to abide. Throne to reign. Jesus is standing on the road. Walk with Him there.
