I was always so confused By the people that I’ve heard With differing interpretations Of God’s Holy word They all use the scripture To support their many views How can so much truth Be used to confuse? But if I follow His Spirit I find I’m never at a loss Unless my pride tries to add to What Jesus did upon the cross (chorus) I can’t add a thing Jesus paid the debt in full So His praises I sing I put my life in His control All the good works I do The glory all goes to Him He suffered for me and you Giving salvation from our sin I believe in Him with all my heart Without His love my soul is lost How could I ever add to What Jesus did upon the cross? Imagine an unbeliever Shipwrecked on a desert island Was walking on the shore And found a Bible in the sand Though the pages were torn And some of the print blurred If he read and believed Could he be saved by just the Word? Or because he was all alone Would his soul be eternally lost Because he could not add to What Jesus did upon the cross (Bridge) My behavior is not the solution –My Savior is the only salvation
