Apostle Paul Acts 17

[Verse 1] Paul and Silas on the move, Amphipolis they pass Through Apollonia, they traveling fast Touch down in Thessalonica, where the synagogue is set Three Sabbaths reasoning the scriptures, no regret Explaining and proving that the Christ had to suffer Rising from the dead, making every heart tougher Saying, "This is Jesus, the Messiah that I proclaim" Some believed, joined the crew, calling on the name But others got jealous, formed a mob in the street They dragged out Jason, looking for Paul to defeat Crying, "These men who turned the world upside down Have brought their dangerous message right into our town!" [Chorus] Searching the scriptures, day and night In the city of Berea, they were seeking the light They received the word with a noble, open mind To see if these truths were the ones they would find Turn the world upside down, let the message resound From the streets to the temples, where the truth is found [Verse 2] Escaped to Berea under cover of the night The brothers sent Paul away, keeping out of sight But the crowd in Berea was a different kind of breed They examined the word, planting every single seed Many believed, honorable women and men Till the troublemakers from Thessalonica came again Stirring up the crowds, so Paul had to leave He sailed out to Athens, leaving others to believe Waiting for Silas and Timothy to arrive Walking through Athens, keeping the message alive His spirit was stirred, seeing idols in the square An altar to the Unknown God standing right there [Chorus] Searching the scriptures, day and night In the city of Berea, they were seeking the light They received the word with a noble, open mind To see if these truths were the ones they would find Turn the world upside down, let the message resound From the streets to the temples, where the truth is found [Verse 3] At the Areopagus, Paul took his stand Proclaiming the Creator of the heavens and the land "He doesn't live in temples made by human hands He gives life and breath to all, throughout the lands The God you worship without knowing, I declare to you today He commands all people to repent and find the way For He set a day to judge the world in righteousness By the Man He appointed, raising Him from the death!" Some mocked the resurrection, some said "We'll hear you again" But Dionysius and Damaris joined the believers then [Outro] Acts 17, Thessalonica to the Athens stage The word goes forth, turning over every page Turn the world upside down Turn the world upside down Berea searching, Athens learning The fire is burning...
