# **No Serenity** A sudden strike, the timbers split— You severed the rope and let me slip. Cast out alone to face the sea, Your parting ghost my company. My empty ship drifts through the night, No crew aboard, no guiding light. No stars above, no course to chart, A broken compass guides my heart. Too long at sea, I’ve lost my way, My spirit grows colder every day. With only the bottle by my side, I drink to drown what I cannot hide. Pour spiced rum to blur the past, Yet old wounds still hold fast. If I seem bitter, I survived, Through raging storms, I stayed alive. Resentment demands a heavy toll; It steers the helm and takes control. The tidal waves were drowning me, I should have cut the anchor free. Though fierce storms are all I’ve known, I reached new shores to call my own. I found a love that let me mend, Where open waters finally end.
