Verse 1 Dennis comes strollin’ down the hallway, Like he’s ridin’ on a Holy Ghost breeze. He’s juggling communion cups with confidence, Like a sanctified circus trapeze. He’s knockin’ over mop buckets gently, With that Jesus Movement grin— But the Spirit keeps on flowin’, So we just shout “Amen!” again. ________________________________________ Chorus Oh Dennis, Dennis, doing menace at the church, But Jesus loves him anyway, and grace is on the search. He’s cracked, he’s bold, he’s egg stra proud, A sunshine saint in a folk rock crowd. God can use a heart like his— Yeah, that’s just how it is. ________________________________________ Verse 2 He unplugged all the speakers softly, Like a roadie from ’74, He rearranged every pew in rhythm Till Chef Bud said, “Lord… not anymore.” But then he peeled six hundred eggs smiling, Didn’t tire, didn’t break a sweat— Said, “I’m egg nointed for this mission,” And honestly… he might be right, I bet. ________________________________________ Bridge (70s Gospel Folk Call and Response) He’s egg stremely unpredictable, (“Oh yes He is!” the choir replies) Egg ceptionally unstoppable, (“Keep on movin’, Brother!”) Egg spressin’ joy improbable— But Jesus calls him lovable! He may scramble every plan, But he’s still God’s chosen man! ________________________________________ Verse 3 (Warm, Acoustic, 70s Glow) Pastor Derek starts the sermon, And the Spirit starts to rise— Christians in the seats are swaying With that Jesus Movement shine in their eyes. Dennis jumps up shouting, “Jesus cracked the grave in two!” And the whole church claps along and sings— “Yeah, the Lord can crack us too!” ________________________________________ Final Chorus (Full 70s Folk Rock Glory) Oh Dennis, Dennis, doing menace at the church, But Jesus loves him anyway, and grace is on the search. He peeled 600 eggs for Christ— Yeah, he paid the peeling price! Dream City loves our Dennis, And Jesus loves him more— Now let that 70s gospel rhythm Shake the room once more!
