Thinkin about how Our country got here this day Thinkin about how our forefathers stood hand in hand all the way Shoulder to shoulder fightin for this land when small children ask how could’ve we ever won our freedom My answer to them is shoulder to shoulder we do the best that we can Our country ain’t perfect but it’s all that we have We strive as brothers and sisters to reach out a helping hand Others in the world look at us and say how can a two hundred and fifty year old country come so far in such a short time My answer to them is shoulder to shoulder we do the best that we can Our country ain’t perfect but it’s all that we have We strive as brothers and sisters to reach out a helping hand Looking forward to how our kids future looks I can’t help but to have faith that just like those who came before us shoulder to shoulder hand in hand Our country ain’t perfect but when they look and see ol’ Glory waving at the world Two hundred and fifty years of freedom Is never gonna stop right here If anyone else asks how can you be so sure My answer with out a doubt is and will always be shoulder to shoulder fighting for our freedoms the only way we know to be God bless this country’s people God continue to bless this great land
