# My First Wolf I often walk in the forest near Gees My dogs feel right at home there They're allowed to walk without a leash And mostly stay close to me The youngest dog loves to play He forgets where I am just like that I had heard a wolf might be around But yesterday I saw one on the path for the first time My first wolf I saw today He looked at me and wasn't afraid The dogs stayed close to me They were very frightened I was in a bit of a hurry, had to leave on time So I walked briskly toward my car Then I saw a fawn standing on the path But it had very big ears It turned out to be a real wolf I saw there I had already put my dogs on the leash And with loud shouting I tried to chase him off But he wasn't impressed by my noise My first wolf I saw today He looked at me and wasn't afraid The dogs stayed close to me They don't like wolves Eventually the wolf left the path ahead of me He walked calmly into the forest I walked to my car as fast as I could And looked sideways to see if I could still spot the wolf At a short distance I saw him watching us The dogs really did stay close to me The wolf was certainly not shy, as you sometimes hear I was glad I could get my dogs into the car My first wolf I saw today He looked at me and wasn't afraid The dogs stayed close to me They really wanted to get in the car This means the end of my walks here I don't dare anymore, and my dogs get no joy from it I heard a wolf deterrent whistle would offer protection But no real evidence has been given for that So now I walk more often in the meadows near us And go to a different spot more often The wolf brings fear and destroys a lot of livestock I hope I never see one again My first wolf I saw today He looked at me and wasn't afraid The dogs stayed close to me They'd rather walk in a meadow here
