Get In The Car (Unexpectedly Smooth Bunny)
[Instrumental Intro] Deeter's cracked hand Slung against his chest Jacket hanging loose Slipping off the shoulder Jenny's pushing it back Saying "Get in the car, Deeter Keep out the way." She sounds pissed But she's pleased He's sure of it He knows it He can tell. Johnny's in the back seat Slumped against the window He doesn't look good Nothing's looking normal The door's wide open Trini's in position Waiting with no patience Behind the steering wheel. Meanwhile Johnny Paradigm, Sublimely unconscious, Slipping to his knees In the driver's side footwell Deeter's fending him off As they both slide sideways Dieter's got his face Pressed into the windshield. And Jenny's still saying "Get in the car, Deeter Keep out the way." She sounds pissed But she's pleased He's sure of it He knows it He can tell. [Instrumental Break] Jenny hauls Dieter By a handful of jacket. His wrist bangs the doorframe A moment of clarity, Lit up by pain. A woman in black Passing by on the sidewalk Makes the sign of the cross Hurries away. And Jenny's just saying "Get in the car, Deeter Keep out the way." She sounds pissed But she's pleased He's sure of it He knows it He can tell. [Instrumental Break] Trini's glaring at Deeter But Deeter can't see him He's all of a codeine haze. Jenny's climbing over Deeter Heaving Johnny out the footwell Up onto the back seat It's a good decision Deeter admires it. He's looking for the seat belt But he's too stoned to find it Trini turns the ignition The engine starts running. Deeter starts laughing. Nobody joins him. And now Jenny's saying "Stay in the car, Deeter Keep out of my way." She sounds pissed But she's pleased He's sure of it He knows it He can tell. He's sure of it He knows it He can tell. He's sure of it He knows it He can tell.
