[Verse] Cold snow bit my toes like a hungry dog Ran outside in my PJs through the fog Trash truck roaring Eating my pride My trash can gone Took my dignity for a ride [Chorus] Trash man Trash man Where’d you go You took my can Left me in the snow Trash man Trash man You broke the rules Now I’m standing here with the trash can blues [Verse 2] Plastic dreams crushed in your iron claws You didn’t even pause You didn’t even pause I shouted Hey That’s my loyal bin But the truck just laughed and swallowed it in [Prechorus] I chased ten feet Maybe more Slipped and fell on my frozen porch floor [Chorus] Trash man Trash man Where’d you go You took my can Left me in the snow Trash man Trash man You broke the rules Now I’m standing here with the trash can blues [Bridge] Is it personal Or was it fate To steal my can My trashy mate I’ll buy a new one But it won’t compare To the memories we stuffed in there
