Verse I — The Kingdom of Three Suns When Erlithane was young and bright, Three suns crowned heaven’s height. The rivers sang, the fields were gold, And death was but a story told. A maiden rode with hair of flame, Kareth Von Drel they spoke her name. With healer’s hand and heart so true, She swore the grave she'd not pursue. Verse II — The Village of the Pale Then whispers came from western glen, Where none drew breath nor prayed again. The bells rang out, the sick lay still, A darker hymn crept down the hill. She rode through night on silver steed, To cure her land of grief and need. But in that soil where bones had slept, A thing long buried softly wept. Verse III — The Vistigial’s Call The dead arose with hollow grace, Their eyes like mirrors, cold embrace. A spiral eye in ash was drawn, To mark the birth of endless dawn. “The Mourning Shade,” the priests all cried, “A god of loss the stars denied!” But still she sought to end the blight, To heal the wrong, restore the light. Verse IV — Mordrenath’s Curse From crypt and catacomb he came, Mordrenath, the Lich of Flame. He wore a crown of spines and bone, His heart as cold as marble stone. “You fight for life,” he softly said, “But life will die as I am dead. Your hands can mend no soul’s despair— So tear your heart, if you would care.” Verse V — The Shattering She took his words, she took his spite, And in her keep beneath the night, She mixed her blood with ash and tears, To end the pain that filled her years. She drew her heart, its crimson flame, And cursed the world that bore her name. It cracked in four with thundered cry, And blotted out each sun-lit sky. Verse VI — The Birth of Nethrial The dawn refused to rise again, The fields lay still, the rivers feign. Her keep became a tomb of stone, Her soul in fragments, lost, alone. Four hearts beat on where sorrow grew, Beneath the fog, the pale, and dew. And where they sleep, the dead still dream, Of Kareth’s love and Kareth’s scream. Verse VII — The Choice of the Living Now every age her curse renews, The Mists remember, winds accuse. Break all four hearts—the curse will die, But so will she who dares defy. Restore the hearts—the suns may gleam, Yet shadows wake within the dream. So raise your glass, brave souls and few, For Kareth weeps—for me and you.
