The Ballad of Bart Bartovski

Verse 1
Bart Bartovski drew the battle,
Split the fleet in branches wide.
Pyotr Pyotrowtch took the cruisers,
Battleships by Bart would ride.
David Davidovitch with light ships,
Led destroyers bold and free.
On the other side stood Mike-san,
Waiting with his company.

Chorus
Oh, onward, lads, and never worry,
Let the guns and banners fly!
Bart Bartovski leads us forward,
To the far edge we will fight!

Verse 2
Mike-san marched into the opening,
Thinking he would cross our line.
Trying for the famous "T-cross,"
Certain victory was nigh.
But the trap was sprung around him,
Fire rained from every side.
Pyotr Pyotrowtch closed the circle,
Bart stood firm in strength and pride.

Chorus
Oh, onward, lads, and never worry,
Let the guns and banners fly!
Bart Bartovski leads us forward,
To the far edge we will fight!

Verse 3
David Davidovitch struck swiftly,
Hunting every Japanese boat.
Soon the enemy destroyers
Vanished in the smoke afloat.
Then the battleships came thundering,
Heavy guns began to roar.
Shikishima met her ending,
Never sailed the oceans more.

Chorus
Oh, onward, lads, and never worry,
Let the guns and banners fly!
Bart Bartovski leads us forward,
To the far edge we will fight!

Verse 4
Then Asahi took a torpedo,
David's daring earned the day.
Though our own destroyers perished,
Their brave charge had paved the way.
Tim-san's cruisers joined the battle,
Trading shells with Pyotr's line.
Avrora was struck by torpedo,
Still she fought through smoke and brine.

Verse 5
When the clock struck ten that evening,
It was time to end the fight.
Two great battleships were sunken,
Asahi sank before the night.
Three destroyers lost by Japan,
Russia lost but only two.
Bart Bartovski raised the banner—
Victory belonged to the crew!

Final Chorus
Oh, onward, lads, and never worry,
Let the guns and banners fly!
Bart Bartovski! David Davidovitch!
Pyotr Pyotrowtch standing high!
Tim-san fought with all his courage,
Mike-san battled to the end,
But that day the Russian squadron
Won the glory of its friends!
