Verse 1 Science doesn’t say, “I know,” It asks which way the evidence goes. It makes a guess, predicts a sign, Then tests the thought one more time. Pre-Chorus Every answer opens a door, Every finding asks for more. Chorus We’re looking for truth, Getting closer every day. Following the evidence, Letting questions lead the way. Not afraid to change our minds When the facts reveal a different view. We may never hold the final word— But we’re looking for truth. Verse 2 Religion says, “The truth is here,” Preserved by faith from year to year. But ancient words must bend and grow When evidence reveals what we now know. Pre-Chorus Every doctrine bears the weight Of what we learn and what we face. Chorus We’re looking for truth, Getting closer every day. Following the evidence, Letting questions lead the way. Not afraid to change our minds When the facts reveal a different view. We may never hold the final word— But we’re looking for truth. Bridge Truth needs no shield from honest doubt, No walls to keep the questions out. If what we cherish must be revised, Let understanding be our guide. Final Chorus We’re looking for truth, Not defending what we knew. Testing every certainty, Seeing through a wider view. Not afraid to change our minds When a clearer light comes shining through. We may never hold the final word— But we’re looking for truth.
