Jim Windwalker

Jim is a 72-year-old disabled veteran who has been making music his whole life. His roots are in the old-timey Southern country music of the Appalachian foothills — the songs people sang on porches, not stages. He plays acoustic guitar in a flatpicking style and writes as a storyteller first, less concerned with traditional song structure than with carrying you through something. Much of his music carries the influence of Jan, his wife of 41 years. Whatever else has crept into his sound over the years, that foothills tradition is still the ground he stands on.
