Tunes just pop into my head sometimes. If I don’t record them–create a version on the piano, reconstruct them in GarageBand, or simply whistle them into a phone–they flicker away like fireflies in the forest. I never knew what to do with these recordings. But recently, AI music apps, like Suno, offer a way to put flesh on those bones. The app digests the recording while user prompts give guidance to generate orchestrated versions. The first 50 iterations are mostly forgettable. However, by tweaking prompts and exploring genres, a version appears that offers some direction. Refining and expanding that concept, a song emerges that just feels right. – Since 1973, Tracy Sabin has crafted illustration for a wide variety of clients. He has illustrated over 500 logos.
