I’ve moved around a lot and grown up between cultures. I get used to new places, though I still find myself wondering where I fit. Some things stay with me longer than I expect: words I never said, daydreams by the window, memories of baking cookies that drift back when I can’t sleep. They find their way into my lyrics. I like the thought of hearing a song again one day and remembering how life felt when I wrote it. That’s how Nowhereland started taking shape. CookieBlukie wanders through it, gets lost, and tries to make sense of who she’s becoming. She picks up abandoned dreams and the things people never managed to say, gives them a life of their own, and slowly builds somewhere for them to stay. I’m finding my way, too. Some songs are just a way to remember a day. Others are little places I want to spend time in. I’m not sure where any of this is going yet. I’d like to keep writing and see.
