About

Pretty Promises makes music you weren’t supposed to find. Dark curled in edges on status quo- genre defying. Spoken word. Lyrical poetry carved into wet concrete before the tide comes back for it. Dense, deliberate, restless. The kind of songs that leave fingerprints on the inside of your ribs. The name came from a habit. Pretty promises. The things people swear right before they vanish. The lies we tell lovers. The bargains we make with mirrors. The glowing exits painted on collapsing walls. Somewhere between the Santa Cruz fog and the redwood dark, the name stopped sounding sarcastic and started sounding archaeological. Like digging through ruins made of vows nobody survived keeping. This is music for insomniacs, ghost drivers, exiles, romantics with blood in their teeth, people who laugh at funerals because they ran out of ways to grieve cleanly. Not built for playlists. Built for echoes. Something washed ashore here. Something learned how to sing before it learned how to heal. What do you call a door with no room behind it? Exit those poorly drawn lines of that box you are in and let me skullfuck you with something fresh.
