Origins: The project began in 1995, in the era of the emerging Russian electronic underground. Young Alexander, a radio engineering student under the alias hitryi_kis, made raw but passionate music on the first Soviet synthesizer "POLIVOKS" and an ancient computer. His tracks blended techno, trance, and ambient, recorded through an old sound card onto cassettes — pure experimentation, an attempt to capture the digital future. The Era of Oblivion (2000–2010): In the 2000s, practicality won out. Alexander stopped composing and spent 10 years as a DJ, mastering other people's voices while his own fell silent. By 2010, burdened by family, a mortgage, and an IT career, he left music behind. Boxes of cassettes and discs went up to the attic. The Awakening: During renovations in his mother's attic, Alexander finds a box labeled "hitryi_kis - 2000." Inside: cassettes and tracker scores (.mod, .xm) on floppy disks. That evening, he loads them into a modern DAW. Magic happens. Fragile 8-bit samples and naive melodies from 25 years ago enter a dialogue with modern synthesizers and plugins — neural connections of his past, alive in the present.
