Hello, Suno world! I’m a washed-up former a cappella singer with an unabashed musical preference for 60s-70s-80s rock…and Celtic reels. I’ve recently started to try my hand at songwriting…with no instruments, no confidence (or any idea how) to join a band, and only a caveman-level understanding of GarageBand. Regardless of these silly little limitations, it was one of the things that got me through one of the most agonizing periods of my entire life thus far — you know things have gotten bad when a lukewarm-and-cold failing romance is actually kind of a welcome distraction — and it continues to be a creative lifeline for processing my jumbled thoughts and emotions. I’ve amassed a small stockpile of rough recordings (you may see occasional snippets of these recordings in my hooks) and am now clumsily trying to teach myself how to use Suno to cover them. It’s imperfect, cathartic, frustrating, and ultimately rewarding…a very human experience despite the impressive AI tool.
