mpyant187803 I’m May Rose, a New York City girl who grew up to be a Southern belle in Alabama. I came to Alabama when I was about three and a half years old, but music was already in me. My granddaddy was Bishop Pyant from New York City, and I come from a church foundation where they really had the Holy Ghost, okay? My mama told me she would rock me in her lap as a baby, and I would be singing while she rocked me. I've been singing ever since. I pursued music in 2006, but when I became a mama, I put it aside to raise my children. Twenty years later, my oldest baby is grown, and now the studio is right here in my hand. Anybody who knows me will tell you, “Mary make a song out of everything.” And I do. I turn my memories, faith, motherhood, pain, laughter, everyday life, and truth into music. I’m May Rose a mama, storyteller, Southern belle, and lifelong singer finally telling my story one song at a time.
