Stan Kuroi

Stan Kuroi was born in Shōwa 60, in the heart of summer, under the sign of the Wood Ox. The journey began in the Prague crossover/punk band Asphalt, as a bassist and later vocalist, gradually evolving toward metal with a strong focus on vocals and lyric writing. Since autumn 2024, the current work has emerged as a form of art therapy, transforming deeply personal texts into music. Influenced by metal in all its forms, post-rock, and classical and orchestral film music, the sound balances intensity and introspection. The lyrics reflect an ongoing struggle with depression and anxiety, grounded in the belief that music can be a healing force, helping one rise above the weight of everyday reality. Alongside vocal releases, an instrumental album is in progress, with genre experimentation at the core of the creative process. Beyond music, books and Japanese culture play a significant role, shaping both the aesthetic and the philosophy behind the work.
