About

Joey Fontaine
This project comes from my work in psychiatry and a long-standing interest in reverb-heavy guitar music. In clinical practice I spend a lot of time with repetition, truama, stigma, change, and recovery that rarely move in straight lines. Musically I’m drawn to shoegaze and dream pop, along with surf guitar and instrumental atmospheric artists. I usually build layered guitar tracks, then process them through Suno, often listening during the transition between work and home. Philosophically I lean toward Camus and absurdism - the idea that meaning and purpose don't exist, but you still choose how to respond - we can rebel . I’m also developing conceptual work meeting a song for each work of Edgar Allan Poe.
