SJV — songs from an ordinary life observed closely. Working-man roots, Central Valley dust, family, neighbors, gardens, coffee and memory. Country at the foundation, with roots-rock, soul, reggae and rock & roll around the edges. Real stories, warm human voices and instruments given room to breathe. I don't go looking far for songs. I slow down, pay attention, and write down what was already there.
