Dean Mathis, the creative force behind LEO Sound Works, is a veteran bassist and studio producer. His musical journey began in his early teens on the acoustic guitar before finding his true calling in the low end—moving to upright bass and forging a lifelong bond with the electric bass by Middle School. With foundational roots in Folk, Jazz and Show Bands throughout the early 1980s, Dean’s career spans decades of live and session work. His deep pocket and versatility have anchored a wide spectrum of genres, holding down the rhythm for Country, Folk, Acoustic Rock, and Motown/Blues. Whether he's laying down tracks in the studio or sitting in as a hired gun, Dean brings a lifetime of authentic groove and technical precision to every production.
