Cajun Dead et le Talkin’ Stick is the genre-bending music and storytelling project of Nova Scotia artist Claude Edwin Theriault, rooted in Acadian culture and built for a global audience. The sound fuses Appalachian folk, French Acadian, and Cajun traditions; worldbeat; blues; dub; and bluegrass with dobro, banjo, mandolin, hurdy-gurdy, didgeridoo, and male harmonies. It is a contemporary griot archive: songs carry memory, displacement, love, loss, social justice, identity, and humanitarian themes. Claude’s AI-assisted Suno compositions combine human-written lyrics and artistic direction with generative music technology—AI as an instrument, not a replacement for the artist. From a cappella storytelling to world fusion and humanitarian narratives, the project connects Atlantic Canada, Acadie, and Louisiana while pushing Acadian music beyond heritage formulas. Discover an evolving catalogue where folk roots, memory, experimentation, and technology meet—and where every song has a story.
