A thousand years ago, Asyea was a Nordic warrior, priestess, and shaman. In her legend, she became the first of her order to discover how to carry her spirit beyond death and across a millennium. Reincarnated in our time, she sings in Old Norse. Her songs begin with a whisper, then rise into pounding drums, fierce violin, and heavy guitars. On her debut, Hér stend ek enn, she sings the words that carried her through a thousand years: “I’m still standing here.”
