I've always had a passion for music. I grew up on the oldies station as a child (90s kid). Listening to 50s, 60s, and 70s. While I love a lot of music from those eras, my personal taste and passion stems more from 80s to early 2000s. Heavy metal and the harder variants like metalcore and death metal hit the spot for what I write. I first started writing lyrics in 2007 when in high school and playing in a band with some friends. I learned a little bass guitar during that time and I did vocal work for our band. I never mastered the bass and all I could only really do death vocals well. My southern accent and the 'twang' in my voice made clean vocals not fit our style. In 2011, the dream of playing music came to a halt when a member of the band, and perhaps the main artist behind our music, made piss-poor decisions and finding himself in prison. Recent years have revived my passion for lyrics and poetry as I've endured heartache and depression. As I endured the circumstances in my life that led me down some painful roads, I've come to a better state of mind. While recovery from depression is not that simple, I'm thankful for Suno AI. I can express myself in a healthy way.
