Hardly Think Of You At All

Lyrics by Steven R. Drennon, ©️ 1994 - 2024 https://youtu.be/hbcpIRAPx_4 Please check out my YouTube channel if you get a chance: https://www.youtube.com/@firstep3 I used to cry myself to sleep When you first said goodbye, And in the morning when I woke, I’d think of you and cry. I’m handling things much better now That you’re not here with me. Now it won’t be too long before I set your memory free. I used to walk the floor at night When I was all alone, And I spent so many hours Sitting by the telephone, But I finally came to realize That you weren’t going to call. Now I’m feeling better because I hardly think of you at all. I hardly think about the way you used to hold me, And your love is getting harder to recall. I once built my world around you, Now I’m just fine without you, Because these days I find I hardly think of you at all. I used to wake up in the night And call out loud your name. So much time has gone by now That I don’t feel the same. The love we shared was once so great, But now it seems so small Because I’m finding now I hardly think of you at all. I hardly think about the way you used to hold me, And your love is getting harder to recall. I once built my world around you, Now I’m just fine without you, Because these days I find I hardly think of you at all.

That's so interesting. I have written poems over the years but no where near 1000. Any way I have enjoyed quite a few of your songs. Thx

Thanks, I truly appreciate that. I've had a few songs that I created on here that were not originally intended as songs. I tried writing a chorus to add on to some regular poems and they turned out pretty good. I've been enjoying your songs as well, and I hope to get some time to check out more of them soon.

Thanks! Over the past 50 years I have written over 1000 poems, and many of those were songs. I can't read or write music or play any instruments, so my songs usually came about as a tune I would hum and then gradually add words to make the song. I'd then record it with just my voice. I've been gradually converting all of those to actual songs, thanks to Suno. I've rewritten a few and have a couple of new ones, but most are just copy and paste, sometimes with an upload of my vocals.
