Same Sky, Different View

君が見た空は青だった 僕の目には灰色で ひとつの空の下で 違う物語を描く すれ違う影に隠された 真実はいつもひとつじゃない 心の向こうに揺れる想い 同じ世界が違って見える "Same sky, different view" 信じてた答えは変わる "it’s true" 君と僕が見つけた未来 波間に揺れる舟が一つ 君と僕は逆の岸辺 でも遠ざかるようで近づく 目指す場所はただひとつ 異なる色のパズルたちも 重なれば絵になるように それぞれの目が見た世界は 同じ夢を形にしていく "Same sky, different view" 重なる声が響いて "it’s true" ひとつの光見つけた未来 "Same sky, different view" 信じてた答えは変わる "Perspective, it’s true" 君と僕が描いた未来 大学時代に読んで深く感銘を受けた本に、フリッチョフ・カプラの『タオ自然学』がある。この本は1975年に出版されたが、私が読んだのは1980年頃だったと思う。 SF好きだった私は、その流れでカプラの著書もSF的な読み物として楽しんでいた。しかし、現代では本書が提示する思想をもはやフィクションとは言い切れなくなってきたと感じる。 特に量子力学の分野では、本書で示された考えがさらに深まりを見せている。 本書は、西洋科学と東洋思想の共通点を探り、それらの整合性を問う内容だ。東洋思想が俯瞰的な視点で物事を整理する一方で、西洋科学は尖鋭的分析を通じてアプローチする。それにもかかわらず、両者が同じ結論に到達する点が非常に興味深い。 一見すると対立しているように見える立場が、実際には同じ結論に至るという不思議な現象。この事は、私の価値観に大きな影響を与えた。 また、客観的事実というものの仕組みも興味深い。それは直感的な理論体系から分析が始まり、特定の前提や条件下でのみ成立している。つまり、世界は驚くほど柔軟なのだ。 私たちが「事実」だと考えるものも、視点が変われば変化する。言い換えれば、「見方が変われば事実も変わる」ということだ。 The sky you saw was painted in blue Yet through my eyes, it turned to gray Beneath the canopy we share We craft stories in different hues In shadows where paths softly collide The truth is never bound to one Beyond the heart, emotions sway The same world shifts in a different light "Same sky, different view" The answers we believed now change "It’s true" A future we both found anew A single boat sways upon the waves You and I on opposite shores Yet drifting apart draws us closer still Our destination, one and the same Puzzles of colors, all unique When joined, they form a vivid scene The worlds we’ve seen through separate eyes Now shape the same dream into being "Same sky, different view" Harmonized voices resonate "It’s true" A single light, a future unveiled "Same sky, different view" The answers we believed now change "Perspective, it’s true" A future we painted, you and I One of the books I read during my university years that left a profound impression on me was The Tao of Physics by Fritjof Capra. Although it was published in 1975, I believe I read it around 1980. As a fan of science fiction at the time, I initially enjoyed Capra’s book as though it were another piece of SF literature. However, in today’s world, I feel that the ideas presented in the book can no longer be dismissed as mere fiction. This is especially true in the field of quantum mechanics, where the concepts introduced in the book have shown even greater depth. The book explores the commonalities between Western science and Eastern philosophy, questioning their coherence. While Eastern philosophy organizes concepts from a holistic perspective, Western science approaches them through sharp, analytical inquiry. Yet, despite their seemingly opposing approaches, both arrive at the same conclusions, which is utterly fascinating. The phenomenon of these seemingly conflicting perspectives converging to the same endpoint struck me as profoundly mysterious and had a significant impact on my worldview. The nature of objective facts is equally intriguing. They originate from intuitive theoretical frameworks and are valid only under specific premises and conditions. In other words, the world is astonishingly flexible. Even what we consider to be "facts" can transform if the perspective shifts. Put simply, "change your viewpoint, and the facts themselves will change."
