[verse 1] Come closer, dear, and let me show, A tale of masks and a marionette’s woe. Oh, how it moves, unaware of its fate, Bound by the strings, it’s never too late. Now sit a while, and listen close, For the puppet’s dance is no simple boast. Each step it takes, each breath it draws, Is shaped by hands with no moral cause. [verse 2] Take a seat closer now, my tale’s begun, A beast in disguise—its work’s never done. In a village forgotten, far from the sun, Where shadows grow deep and the air weighs a ton. The town was quiet, a place left behind, With streets that were narrow, their buildings confined. No joy ever echoed, no laughter or cheer, Just silence that lingered, heavy with fear. But then came a stranger, with eyes far too red, Her gaze like embers, a warning unsaid. The villagers watched, but dared not approach, For fear of the gaze that would scorch like a torch. [verse 3] As days passed, they saw her more, Her red eyes burning, a flicker of lore. Each time she appeared, the whispers would start, Of things left unsaid, of a breaking heart. The children would shiver, the old men would sigh, And none dared ask where the woman would lie. She’d pass by their doors, with a smile too wide, And something inside them began to divide. [verse 4] Then came the first sign, so quiet, so small, A door left ajar, no footsteps at all. The scent of decay hung thick in the air, And the shadows, they seemed to breathe with despair. Thomas, the brave, said, "I know what I’ve seen, A shadow that lurks where no one’s been." But no one believed, for who could know, What lay in the heart of this stranger’s glow? But soon, there were signs that couldn’t be ignored, A missing livestock, a house that implored. The town began to tremble, unsure what to do, For the woman’s red eyes were now in full view. [verse 5] The village, once quiet, now filled with dismay, Each night grew longer, each step seemed to sway. And as the shadows crept over the land, The villagers gathered, trembling, hand in hand. Martha, with fear, said, "We must leave this place, This woman, she’s cursed, she’s death in her face." But others just stared, their hearts full of dread, For none could say what the red eyes had led. [verse 6] Then came the day, when Thomas was gone, A whisper of wind, and then, nothing was drawn. His house stood still, the door wide ajar, No sound, no trace, no sign from afar. The villagers screamed, but what could they do? For now they knew—this woman was true. And with her eyes burning, like fire in the night, The beast was awake, ready to bite. [verse 7] The air grew thick with an unnatural dread, And whispers filled these streets of the dead. "Who will be next?" the townsfolk would say, As they locked up their homes and prayed through the day. But no prayer could save them, no light could stop, For the woman with red eyes had claimed the throne. And as night fell, the strings pulled tight, The town was now hers, swallowed in night. [outro] And so, my dear, the strings are pulled, The tale concludes, the fate unfolds. But fear not, for darkness will rise again, A new dance begins... until the very end..

Cool song! I love the combined music elements and I love the idea of "The Puppeteer." I just created one about a puppeteer as well. So much fun!
