AT the CROSS
What was it Lord That made you go All the way for me What prompted you To give your life And die at Calvary The suffering that you endured is More than I could bear The cruellest form of punishment Was foisted on you there Vengeance was the strong desire Of those who punished you Graciousness was what you gave Your love eternal too Your Crown of thorns Mingled with love As you became Sin for me Only you Lord Jesus Could bring forgiveness When you died on Calvary At the cross You bore my pain You died My life to gain The humiliation and suffering The blood so bitter sweet The nails enforced Through your hands The nails through your feet I stand forgiven Cleansed by your blood Healed by your wounds Saved by God's love At the cross You bore my pain You died My life to gain You went all the way All the way for me In obedience to hang Upon that tree I will never fully understand What or why or how But I know that because You gave all for me I have all that I need Now © Nancy Joy Moyle March 26 2016
