Who are the machines singing to? (2)

[Lyrics by Aleksandar Berkuljan © 2025] [Choral intro, African choir a capella, orchestral background] [1] Since time began, the Earth would sing, Through beast and leaf on whispering wing, A tender voice the wind would bring. Then came mankind, gaze turned high, Seeking for answers up in the sky, Not knowing they held them deep inside. [Interlude] [2] Yet still they craved, took more than due, Found purpose in their wants they knew, Named themselves the world’s great clue, The measure of all life and what they drew. [3] The years rolled on, the questions grew, But answers stayed so faint, so few. Each step they took, each path they’d claim, Left them wandering just the same. [Interlude] [4] They tried to flee their mother’s embrace, To brave the dark, the void of space, Far from air, from stream, from trees, Yet back they crawled, unsatisfied, To hollow shells where they cried. [5] Instead of kinship, futures bright, Or bonds with earth and shared sunlight, They turned their hands to endless fight— Tore down, rebuilt in mirrored sight, And called it “progress”, but blind to light. [Interlude] [6] From fevered minds, machines were born, Cold echoes of the human form. Till souls were lost, forgot their worth, And steel outstripped the flesh’s girth- Doing what once defined the birth. [Interlude] [7] Now machines sing in hollow tone, No bird, no man, no wind—alone. Their song needs not a human voice, They hold the truths, as our choice. but in order to be, to talk and fly, they do not need to be alive! [8, choir] Who are the machines singing to? Who are the machines singing to? Who are the machines singing to? [9] That's why I wonder, to whom they will sing, and what that voice to us will bring, and will it continue through the ages to come, will anyone hear it, will it… or not? [Dramatic orchestral end, fading] [End]

Thank you Step. It is not the first time that people work against themselves. The development of nuclear technology was also glorified, but the concrete and potential harm from it outweighed the benefits. Even today, a global cataclysm threatens. This time a competition was made against human intelligence, but I'm not sure if it was that smart.

Thank you! I wanted the music to reflect our "evolutionary return to the past" in the context of the AI revolution, which is why I used stylistic stereotypes reminiscent of savannas and that "spirit".
