[verse 1] At my old workshop sometimes a guy would walk in. And he’d look at me with a kind of sheepish grin. He’d say “I’ve got this huge project, but I can't spend much money, and I need it tomorrow, No, I’m not being funny.” But I’ve heard this before a hundred times. I know just what to do. I’d smile back, and say “Fast. Good. Cheap… pick 2,” [chorus] If its good and fast you'll have to pay my shop's rush fee If its fast and cheap your gonna sacrifice a little quality if its cheap and good you better be prepared to wait a while. Other clients planned ahead. You're the last job in my file. That is every single possibility. You can't have all three 2. [verse 2] You get home late after a crummy day, to find your wife is in the mood But you skipped breakfast, and worked thru lunch. You really need some food Plus, you were looking forward to that new show, and your wife’s asleep by 9. You simply can’t do all three things, there isn’t enough time. Pick 2. [chorus] If You eat and then just watch TV your lady might be pissed If you make love then watch your show, thats 3 meals in a row you missed If you decide to cook dinner and for dessert have hanky panky You might hear a spoiler tomorrow, and that’ll make you cranky… That is every single possibility. You can't have all three Pick 2. [verse 3] So, You're in college now and trying to figure out just who you wanna be. That guy from your psych class says “Do you wanna, go to a party with me?” Tomorrow at 7 a em you've got an exam, you should study and get a full night's sleep But, then again…you kinda wanna see... the back seat of his jeep. Pick 2. [chorus] If you study for the test and get plenty of rest you won't have fun but you'll get an A If you party for a while then cram all night You'll be exhausted but do ok. If you get drunk and sleep it off instead of taking time to review You might just fail, but in the end the choice is up to you. That is every single possibility. You can’t have all 3 Pick 2.
