🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿A Tear Upon the Ashes

February 22, 2025 at 1:26 PMv4

[Intro] A tempest rises, still and grim, A fleeting breath in waters dim. The dust now rests on pallid skin, A thousand eyes, yet none within. --- [Verse 1] A tear descends, it sunders stone, For souls that wander lost, alone. Bound in the void, so faint, so frail, Adrift upon the shadowed veil. The earth now gapes in silence deep, A nameless grave where none shall weep. The hush endures, no heartbeat calls, Where light once stood, the darkness falls. --- [Chorus 1] A tear is shed for those who fell, Who slumber in the dust’s cold shell. No whisper lingers, light is gone, Lost beneath the night’s vast song. The ages turn, yet still remain The ghosts of sorrow, bound in pain. For those who once drew breath and bled, A tear is wept for all the dead. --- [Verse 2] A march upon the crimson field, The raven cries, the fate is sealed. They wheel above in omen dire, A wretched hymn of blood and fire. The song of thunder splits the sky, The ground now quakes with fate’s reply. A host that treads through storm and flame, As death inscribes their final name. --- [Bridge] Yet ‘midst the gloom a flicker gleams, A dying star in distant dreams. The fallen whisper, cold and deep, Their voices lost where silence weeps. The hours fade, yet night remains, A shadow realm where sorrow reigns. --- [Chorus 2] A tear is shed for every knight, Who fades into the boundless night. Their battle cries now turned to dust, No solace found, no sacred trust. Their sacrifice, a tale unsung, Their dirge is lost, their requiem done. No voice shall raise their banners bright, But darkness holds them, cold and tight. --- [Verse 3] A whisper stirs on frozen air, The wraiths of battle linger there. Their breath now snuffs the ember’s light, Their blood dissolves into the night. The ravens dance in mourning flight, A dirge of sorrow, vast and white. The path is lost, the road too wide, And naught remains but black inside. --- [Chorus 3] A tear is shed for all who fell, Where widows’ cries in echoes swell. Their voices lost, their anguish drowned, As sons lie broken on the ground. --- [Outro] The mist now weaves through hollow lands, The gods of old stretch withered hands. A whisper drifts, so faint, so frail, What once stood firm now grows pale. Deep in the lands where shadows dwell, No tree, no king, no tolling bell. The strands of fate, unraveled, torn, Swept away in time’s forlorn. And when the stars shall flicker, fade, No dawn shall pierce the endless shade. What once was lost shall rise anew, Entombed within the void’s cold hue. --- [Fin]

Dark and atmospheric. The vocals here are lovely and the spoken word is like a bard telling the tale.

What an epic tapestry you have weaved. Such an entrancing tale, executed brilliantly. The intermingled female vocals are amazing, and the violins that came in near the 5 minute mark and again near the 6 minute mark gave me chills. Exquisite!

Absolutely. The function is very useful-not only for extending a song beyond four minutes but also for modifying a song with a good approach in the beginning or mid-part if a vocal section doesn't appeal to you. You just need to specify the minute and second from where you want to make the change, along with the new lyrics starting from that point.
