Lyrics by Steven R. Drennon, ©️ 1982 - 2025 Please check out my YouTube channel if you get a chance: https://www.youtube.com/@firstep3 [Instrumental Intro] [Verse 1] I guess I should thank you For all that I’ve learned Since you left me here all alone, For I’ve learned just how much Pain my heart can stand In just the short time since you’ve gone. [Chorus] It’s such a short time between Your memory and my teardrops. Your memory brings tears to my eyes, And it’s such a short time between Your leaving and my heartbreak. Just thinking of you makes me cry. [Instrumental Interlude] [Verse 2] I’ve learned a lesson Of living alone And found it’s not my way of life For I’ve been unhappy, And I’ve learned to cry Now that you’re no longer my wife. [Chorus] It’s such a short time between Your memory and my teardrops. Your memory brings tears to my eyes, And it’s such a short time between Your leaving and my heartbreak. Just thinking of you makes me cry. [Instrumental Interlude] [Chorus] It’s such a short time between Your memory and my teardrops. Your memory brings tears to my eyes, And it’s such a short time between Your leaving and my heartbreak. Just thinking of you makes me cry. [Instrumental Outro]

You have definitely got the writing talent. Listening to this one, I put myself in your "boots" and how you must have felt when you heard this play back the first time. CHILLS. I have experienced that "chill" and thrill myself, when the lyrics and the music jump right out at you. Keep on doing what your doing brother. Great stuff.

Thanks man, I truly appreciate the kind words. You absolutely nailed my reaction. This one really surprised me, because when I read back over it and then listened to my old recording of it, I didn't much care for it. Suno did it in a much different style than I had originally imagined, and I loved it!
