Refraction

Some days I walk, but my shadow fades, A ghost in a crowd with nothing to say. I speak in echoes, but no one turns, A whisper lost in the static burn. I hold the weight, but it’s wearing thin, Every glance just cuts me in. Trapped between the seen and real, Does anyone know how I feel? And then I saw. The light bending back, a reflection I don’t recognize! A voice in the dark. Calling my name, breaking the silence I used to hide behind! Years in silence, it built like stone, I learned to live with the weight alone. But in an instant, the air collapsed, And every word I never said came crashing back! I can’t breathe, is this pain or is it peace? It’s too much, why does being seen feel like grief? I feel it all, ripping through me, flooding my mind, Was I waiting for this, or was I running blind? I see it now, I was never lost, Just waiting to be known, at any cost. The weight is shifting, the air is clear, For the first time, I feel like I’m here. And then I saw. The light bending back, a reflection I don’t recognize! A voice in the dark. Calling my name, breaking the silence I used to hide behind! Now I see... now I breathe... I was never invisible, just waiting to believe.
