[Verse 1] I tore through the paper, all shiny and bright, Hoping for gadgets or something that lights. Thought it’d be sneakers or a brand-new guitar, But what did I get? Socks. Red ones, green ones, stripes and dots, Thermal and fuzzy —so many socks! Dad holds back a laugh, Mom shoots me a look I say "thanks" and wish I'd have gotten a book.
