Went on my own To the place I- Used to call my home... Memories Clashing with The truth Not the same as it was (In my youth) The uncanny valley I recognize the whole But not the parts It's evolving and devolving (and) I want to go back to the start I want to go back to the start! oh, quiet, heart Quiet heart Oh quiet heart Take me back to the start! Remember the forest by the bend? We were lost in there for hours Returning there And in the end Saw a parking lot and soured (I lost my head) Is my past erased? Only memories Nothing tethering Only tangentially (Panic setting in) Remember the town center Nothing left of it anymore Gone is the local pub (and) the local hardware store. Feel like a stranger in the place that raised me up Is this because I left you all Because I felt all lost and stuck!? Liminal horror Is all I see Twisted nostalgia Is taunting me Is taunting me.. Oh how can this be!!? Never liked it much But at least it was mine But now I feel lost A different place from when I was Nine It's all gone! My past is slipping away! I suppose I should- Be glad and sad I didn't stay..
