Love of a Christmas Feast
The fire crackles, the stew pots' near, A hearty meal, his favorite cheer. A sudden knock, a flutter of snow, An owl with a letter, tied with a bow. He grins, his heart takes flight, “Christmas at the farm—what a delight!” He reads the words, his hunger grows, “Swampy’s cooking? We have to go!” Through the snow, through the frost, For friends like these, no road is lost. A feast awaits, with cheer so wide, I’ll be there, standing by their side. The Switch Axe gleams, the pack is tight, But he adds more snacks for the snowy night. “Jerky, biscuits, a pie or two— A journey needs a meal or few!” He thinks of his friends roast, Christmas desserts—he loves them most. He laughs, “I’ll bring my plate, For this reunion, We can’t be late!” The taste of cider, the sound of cheer, The meals we shared through every year. “Swampy’s stew, christmas pies, I’ll see them again—oh, what a surprise!” Through the snow, through the frost, For friends like these, no road is lost. A feast awaits, with cheer so wide, I’ll be there, standing by their side. With snacks in tow and dreams so bright, He steps out with all his might. Through the woods, his path is clear, For food and friends, best time of the year!
