Second-Rate
Tick… Tock… Bought every thrill, still feel the decay, Sold your soul for a flash in the grey. Now you're broke in a prison made of hours, Searching for mirrors that reflect your false powers. Digital gods in your dopamine feed, But time don’t care ‘bout ego or greed. Every second’s a cut you can't rewind— The price was set, and the cost your mind. You chased forever, But it’s slipping through… The more you grab, The less is left for you… YOU CAN’T BUY TIME— It won't accept your bribes. And it won't wait Till all your greed subsides. Not one second found for sale. It don’t rewind. When your heart's on the scale— Pray it wasn't found for sale. No reset button, no borrowed breath, Just ticking scars on the face of death. You wasted youth on plastic dreams, Now every echo tears your seams. You built a tower with empty clocks, A skyline graveyard of second thoughts. You can run, but time’s ahead— It’s not the reaper… it’s what you fed. Tick… tock… Every lie’s a borrowed beat. Tick… tock… You can’t cheat what you can’t delete. YOU CAN’T BUY TIME— It won't accept your bribes. And it won't wait Till all your greed subsides. Not one second found for sale. It don’t rewind. When your heart's on the scale— Pray it wasn't found for sale. It’s not the end… It’s the time you spent. And now— you’re out.

I've tried to use "tick tock" in a couple songs and was never happy with where I placed it in the phrasing. Never sounded like it fit. You did it perfectly. This is a great song. Masterful lyrics. Nice one.
