This song was inspired by a memory when I was growing up. I liked a girl and I’m pretty sure she liked me, but we never let on, we just kept hanging around each other, asking each other do you wanna play after school and then we’d play “Horse” on my garage basketball hoop or Monopoly at her house, etc. Then her family moved to the other side of the country and I never saw her again. Yay, yay, yay Then the whole class said, “YES!” “He wants to play!” You nodded your head and said “How about after school today?” You looked surprised too But I guess everyone knew Yes, the whole dang school, That you wanted to play Yay, yay, yay!

Cute song with great storytelling. Sweet, quirky and entertaining. As i was writing them I felt that they could also be interpreted as a different kind of play, so I wanted to include the background story that it is more of an innocent kind, but the listener can make of it what they want. It's a heartwarming story, but also a little sad🥹 When I was little, there was a girl who I used to play with a lot, just like you🧸 However, at one point, we couldn't meet due to family circumstances😌 I remembered that time... I remembered that she said, "Let's get married when we grow up"😃😱 Oh my! REALLY good, well constructed and well delivered track. String vocals and the instrumentals were on point. I loved the flourishes like “beep beep boop” etc. It reminded me of the Earthbound soundtrack. Really nice work. Great job 🙌
