The Good Demon [SSC3 Poetry Challenge]
Verse 1: In the grime of the city, under flickering neon lights, Raiden prowls the shadows, through the long, cold nights, Born a demon with horns, and eyes of burning red, But his heart beats heavy, with the weight of the dead. Hook: Raiden, the demon, lost in a cruel land, A soul that yearns for light, with a trembling hand, Caught in the crossfire of heaven and hell, A good-hearted demon with a story to tell. Chorus: Trying to be good, but the world slams the door, No chance for redemption, no hope to restore, Raiden fights the battle, in the alleys so dim, A demon in the darkness, no one believes in him. Verse 2: He saved a fallen angel, with wings that were torn, Together they walked, through the world's scorn, He tried to heal the broken, mend the weak and lost, But every step he took, came with a heavy cost. Hook: Raiden, the demon, in a game of deceit, Where angels cast shadows and devils are sweet, Intentions pure, but misunderstood, In this harsh world, nothing’s ever good. Chorus: Trying to be good, but the world slams the door, No chance for redemption, no hope to restore, Raiden fights the battle, in the alleys so dim, A demon in the darkness, no one believes in him. Bridge: Every night he wandered, through the sin and the grime, Looking for a reason, in this godless time, The world spit him out, like a piece out of place, A demon with a heart, lost in empty space. Chorus: Trying to be good, but the world slams the door, No chance for redemption, no hope to restore, Raiden fights the battle, in the alleys so dim, A demon in the darkness, no one believes in him. Outro: In the end, Raiden stands, a figure in the haze, A demon with a heart, in a world set ablaze, His story left unsung, in the shadows he'll roam, A good demon forever, searching for a home.
