Christmas on the Bayou
[Verse] Snow don't fall in the bayou lands Swamp breeze warms my hands Gators swim by the Christmas lights Echoes hum deep through the night [Verse 2] Church bells ring in misty morn Silent prayers where hope is born Candles flicker in old stained glass Time moves slow but memories pass [Chorus] Gritty voices sing the blues Christmas time brings peaceful muse Under stars in southern skies We find joy in quiet eyes [Verse 3] Muddy banks glow with the moon Kids play rough near an old pontoon Bright holly wreaths on cabin doors Bayou dreams become folklore [Verse 4] Stockings hung by the swamp fire pit Harmonicas play as tales are lit Boats rock gentle in the stream Christmas wrapped in Cajun dreams [Chorus] Gritty voices sing the blues Christmas time brings peaceful muse Under stars in southern skies We find joy in quiet eyes

utterly in love with this one. can you share more about your process? do you write a segment or all of this? was this the style you were hoping for?

It will sound silly, but I use stories from growing up, my kids, movie lines etc. "a" and 'the" rhyme and are interchangeable, but they have meaning, "a" is something we introduce for the 1st time, "the" is known or familiar. so I try to use them that way in song. I like metaphors so use them and double enterdeas as for styles, I try so many and stop when it make my wife smile. If she is happy, I am happy. I put everything on a thumb drive and road trip LOL Thanks again
