The Road Not Taken [SSC4 Poetry Challenge]
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood (yellow wood) And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could (as far as I could) To where it bent in the undergrowth But I chose the path, that was less defined (less defined) And that's where my journey, truly aligned With the road that called, to my heart and soul I took the leap, and made my goal (made my goal) Then took the other, as just as fair (just as fair) And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear Though as for that the passing there (passing there) Had worn them really about the same And I'll be walking, on this road I've chose (I've chose) With every step, my heart finds its home (finds its home) And both that morning equally lay (equally lay) In leaves no step had trodden black Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way (way leads on) I doubted if I should ever come back But I chose the path, that was less defined (less defined) And that's where my journey, truly aligned With the road that called, to my heart and soul I took the leap, and made my goal (made my goal) I shall be telling this with a sigh (with a sigh) Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference (all the difference) And I'll be walking, on this road I've chose With every step, my heart finds its home It's homeeeee!
