I've tried to write a song so many times, But my teardrops keep messing...,up my lines And I can't ever get, my words to rhyme, There's just to many thoughts, Going through my mind. Mammy and pappy lost their son, Long before, I was ever born, And my dad, he was only eight or nine, And I hear he cried his eyes out, For quite a time. They say a kamikaze took my grandad down, Along with several, Other men. They are heroes of the war, In my eyes, Fighting to save the world And our lives, How I wish I could have met him, Just one time, Oh lord, I want to meet him, Just one time.
