Platitudes

<3 <3 .............. I can hear them say. "Oh, you're so brave", Your plate's so full, you're being so vulnerable, Yeah, yeah that's easy, for me, personally, Not one to keep feelings under lock and key, You want to say something don't you? (Why not throw out a few platitudes?) You're looking at me down in this dark hole, And you say, "I'll stay up here", while you shout below, Gotta crawl down to see the truth, To understand my point of view, (Unless you prefer the platitudes) It's muddy and murky down in this well, But we can book a flight, 'Cause I have frequent flier miles, to hell Oh no noo! Maybe you're just at capacity, and got a bag full, Of pre-drafted, words so happy, (And when I'm feeling downright terrible) You'll grab one and throw it right at me, (In my face), but wait, you say, Give you latitude, Why no gratitude? For your, Platitudes I often wake up feeling disconnected from me, Not sure I'm myself, whatever that means, just hand me some coffee, No sweet clichés, no, thank you, please I've said this before, but I'll repeat, I don't like to write about my personal grief, Nothing someone can say, to take it away, Ask how to help, and I'll let you see, I've already been, seen, lived it enough, (So I wanna write songs of love) Oh no noo! For your, Platitudes I don't need drivel, because for me the glass is still half full, The best scenario is as likely as the worst, It's statistics, we aren't the first, To feel all alone, stuck in a deep hole, But we keep rowing the same boat, Most people can't help me out, Because they're sinking, about to drown Oh no noo!
