The Leaf
[Verse 1] A stark, frozen sky, Where leaves wilt and die, One's hanging on a tree, Whispering to the breeze. It looks dry and thin, But life stirs, within. And, though weathered by time The leaf's in its prime. [Pre chorus 1] Cold rain comes, once more, But, it's stronger than before, The wind growls and screams, But, the leaf, can find sun beams, Though rocked, by gusts, The leaf does what it must, Even though it knows fear, It's there year after year. [Chorus 1] To old oak, it's bound, The leaf won't kiss the ground, Blown, by a windy dance, But, the leaf has a chance Scorched and burned, The leaf waits its turn, And, though gravity calls, The leaf will never fall. [Verse 2] At dawn, the leaf unfurls, It opens to the world, Though, there is hesitation, It has determination. Winter will soon be done, The leaf won't be undone, The spring, will soon start, So the leaf can take heart. [Post chorus 1] The leaf will never faaaaaaaaaaaaaaall! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah Ooooooooooooooooh
